A Five Day Challenge: Market Yourself

A Five Day Challenge: Market Yourself

My girlfriends 16 year old daughter is on a health and fitness kick. Keep in mind, this girl is healthier and more fit than about 99% (or more) of her peers, but still, she gets on these kicks every once and a while.

She’s always going to the gym and trying to eat healthy. But, like most of us, sometimes she falls. It’s pretty hard to resist the urge of chips, poutine, chocolate and all the other stuff that tastes so good but does so much bad!

Accountability

5-day-challengeWhat she really needs is someone who will hold her accountable. That’s what she asked me to do. She wants me to question her every day. Did you go to the gym? What did you eat? What did you drink? Did you exercise? She wants me to help keep her on track.

When it comes to anything we try to do in this life, accountability partners are always a good idea. It’s hard to go it alone. It’s nice to have someone to encourage you. Support you. Call you out when it’s necessary. Motivate you to meet your potential.

5 Day Challenge

Inspired by my girlfriends daughter, I decided to start a little challenge of my own. One I’d like to invite you to join in on.

If you talk to a dozen voice over experts and ask them what the most important part of the voice over business is, I have no doubt that one of the most common responses would be marketing. This ain’t the Field of Dreams. If you build it, people won’t just show up. Not if you don’t tell them!

This ain’t the Field of Dreams. If you build it, people won’t just show up. Not if you don’t tell them!

What that in mind, I’m implementing a very simple 5 day challenge. One that’s easy enough for all of us to participate in.

Join Me In My Challenge

challenges_aheadFor the next 5 days I will be reaching out to at least one potential or previous client each day. I’ll send a note to introduce (or reintroduce) myself and include my latest demo.

Some of you are thinking, what? You don’t do that every day already? No. I don’t. Between booked jobs, auditions and everything else going on, some days I don’t have time to reach out.

Setting a goal of one a day is completely attainable. When the week is done I’ll feel great about my success and, who knows, hopefully I’ll feel even better about the new work my efforts generate.

I’ll Be Your Accountability Partner

If you want to join me in my challenge all you need to do is post your name and email address in the comment section. I’ll email you personally each day to make sure you’re making that connection and sending the note and demo.

If you don’t want to post your email address, email me directly at marc@marcscottvoiceover.com.

At the end of the week I’ll celebrate your success with you!

QUESTION: Will you take the challenge?
